Velocity Group has spent many years working alongside charities, schools, trusts, churches, community organisations and other purpose-led organisations.
Many organisations carry significant governance responsibilities and manage resources intended to support their communities for years, sometimes generations. Yet traditional financial services do not always reflect the realities of organisations driven by purpose, stewardship and long-term community impact.

Community-sector roots
A foundation shaped by first-hand experience
Kaitiaki was established by Velocity Financial. Its founders, Graham Goodisson and Brendon Ojala, began their careers in youth work and community development before entering financial services. Those experiences gave them first-hand insight into the funding pressures, governance challenges and financial complexity organisations face.
Kaitiaki grew from a simple belief: stronger financial foundations help create stronger organisations, and stronger organisations create stronger communities.
