About Velocity Financial
Velocity was founded in the early 2000s by Graham and Brendon, who moved from social work into financial advice to help more people get into their first homes. Since then, the business has grown into a team of over twenty advisers and support staff. We now provide a full range of services, including lending, personal & general insurance, investment advice, KiwiSaver, and financial planning. Having these services in one place isn’t common in our industry, and it allows us to take a more joined-up approach to advice.

‍At Velocity, we focus on strengthening the financial foundations of New Zealanders. We work with individuals, families, businesses, and organisations—including those in the impact sector—supporting a wide range of financial needs and goals. Helping people make good financial decisions over time is at the centre of what we do.

‍Our advisers and support team bring a mix of backgrounds and experience. Many have come from careers outside financial services, which adds real-world perspective to the work we do with clients. That experience matters. We support clients through major life moments—buying a first home, running a business, planning for retirement, or navigating unexpected challenges. Having a team that understands those realities makes a difference.

‍The Opportunity
‍We’re looking for Financial Advisers who want to build a sustainable, professional advice career, growing in your skills and experiences to work with diverse clients with diverse needs.  You’ll build and nurture a steady flow of clients, supported by strong systems, processes, and an experienced team.  As a Financial Adviser at Velocity, you will empower clients to take control of their financial future through high-quality, compliant, and personalised advice.

‍What You’ll Be Doing
‍Your role will centre on delivering structured, end-to-end advice:
Meeting with new and existing clients (in person and/or remotely)
Building long-term relationships based on trust and professionalism

Providing advice across:
Mortgage
Personal risk insurance
KiwiSaver and wealth accumulation
Broader financial planning (as applicable)
Guiding clients through needs analysis and risk assessment
Preparing and implementing advice recommendations
Working alongside colleagues to ensure a smooth client experience
Supporting clients through claims and ongoing service needs

‍We’re looking for advisers who are professional, client-focused, and motivated to build a long-term career:
Passionate about helping clients make good financial decisions
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Structured and organised in your approach
Comfortable working within a compliant advice framework
Self-motivated with a focus on delivering quality outcomes

Experience / Qualifications
‍NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5)
Experience in financial advice, banking, insurance, or a related field
