Important Notices

Upcoming Christmas Closure Dates

The office will be closed from 5pm on Tuesday, 23 December, and will reopen at 8am on Monday, 5 January. A limited number of staff will be available during this close down period.

Urgent Queries over the Christmas Period

For urgent enquiries over the holidays, we advise clients to contact their advisers directly.

For all other urgent enquiries, please contact Graham Goodisson on 021 318 949.

Submit your Loan Applications Early to Avoid Delays

With the holiday season fast approaching, we encourage clients to submit their home loan applications by early December to avoid seasonal delays. Banks typically operate with reduced staffing over Christmas and New Year, which can slow down processing times. To help us keep things moving smoothly, please ensure your application is complete and all supporting documents are accurate and up to date. If you're planning to buy over summer or attend auctions, securing pre-approval early is a smart move. It gives you clarity, confidence, and the ability to act quickly when the right opportunity arises. For more information, see our Home Loans Over the Holidays Guide.

We encourage clients to submit their home loan applications by early December to avoid seasonal delays.

Team Updates

In Loving Memory of Tania Crocker

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Tania Crocker, on 13 November 2025.

Tania faced her illness with incredible courage and grace, and her loss leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts. For five years, Tania was an integral part of Velocity Financial as a Financial Adviser. She will be remembered for her kindness, her caring spirit, and her wonderful sense of humour.

Tania worked tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes for her clients and was always there to support her team. She will always be a part of our story, and she will remain in our hearts forever.

We extend our deepest condolences to Ross, Nicole, and Brooke, and to all who knew and loved Tania. Our thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

Brendon's Te Araroa Trail Journey Continues

In September, Velocity Financial Co-Director and Financial Adviser Brendon Ojaja set off on his solo hiking adventure along the Te Araroa Trail, expected to take around 4 months.

Since our last update in October, Brendon has been steadily making his way along Te Araroa, sharing updates from the trail’s varied terrain. His journey has included challenging road sections, scenic bush tracks, and even mountain bike parks. Day 55 marked a major milestone: He officially passed the halfway point at around km 1537, celebrating with pride and anticipation for what lies ahead. Along the way, Brendon briefly left the trail to attend Tania’s funeral, a poignant pause in his adventure. Recent highlights include reconnecting with friends and family, hitchhiking in the rain, and enjoying moments of reflection amid green corridors near Palmerston North.

Brendon is expected to return to the office in February 2026. While Brendon is away, his dedicated support team at Velocity Financial will continue to provide seamless service.

Quote of the Month

“Manisha was incredible assisting me with my first home purchase. She was very supportive and knowledgeable and made sure everything went smoothly. She made the whole process feel a lot less daunting and overwhelming, will be recommending to all my friends.” 5 stars Google Review for Velocity Financial Adviser Manisha Raman, October 2025.
